  • Do you find it a struggle to get out of bed?
  • When the alarm goes off, do you turn it off and fall straight back to sleep?
  • Perhaps you do this more than once - even three or four times?

There are a number of conditions that this type of tiredness may indicate, depending on other accompanying symptoms. Read through the following list and click on the highlighted conditions that you relate to the most. You may not experience every symptom in the list and there may be more than one condition that you relate to.

If you also experience congestion in the nose and grogginess in the head on waking; abdominal bloating and gas; sugar cravings; fungal infections; poor memory and concentration - this may indicate candida overgrowth.

If you also experience congestion and stuffiness in the nose; abdominal bloating, gas and cramping; alternating bowel motions (constipation/diarrhoea) - this may indicate allergies and intolerances to foods and/or environmental agents.

If you can't function when you get up until you have had a morning coffee; lead a hectic busy life and have done so for some time; are prone to chronic allergies, inflammation and digestive problems - this may indicate adrenal exhaustion.

General tiredness in the morning can also indicate that you are sleep deprived. This may be intentional because you aren't getting enough hours sleep (due to partying, working and/or studying late), or you have a snoring partner or crying baby. On the other hand, you may find it difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep.

If you also experience sugar cravings; headaches; skin problems; feel unwell when you eat fatty foods - this may indicate liver congestion.
